So, on my website, I have a section for Frequently Asked Questions. Which is a bit of a misnomer, because right now there is only one question there. The problem is, of course, that nobody asks me any questions at all, so what am I to do?
Well, I will have to prevail upon all of you to come up with them for me!
Ask me questions! Maybe I will answer them! Or maybe I will come up with cunning ways to not answer them–who knows? Any question is fair game, just so long as you understand that any answer is fair game, too.
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why on earth you would take the trouble to ask me questions. Aside from the fact that you might get an answer, that is. And that is why the person who asks the best question (as judged by yours truly) will get a prize. A good prize, in fact–a very good prize. (Notice the rule: Every time I mention the fantastically very good prize, it will be upgraded a notch by adding an adjective.)
This awesomely fantastic very good prize will be a $15 gift certificate to a bookseller of your choice (so long as you choose someone where you can buy gift certificates online), plus something super and secret. You have a week to ask questions in this post–and in that week, every time I mention the incredibly awesome fantastic very good prize (either in comments or on subsequent posts) and thus upgrade its string-o-adjectives, the super and secret something also gets upgraded–and I’ll show you the progression on the day I announce the winner, which should be on March 9th.
Hint: The super and secret something started as a paperclip, so don’t get your hopes up for a new house at the end of it all.
Here’s a question for your FAQ section: When contemplating your next bestseller (liberal use of the word ‘bestseller’ is always a good thing) what comes first: the characters or the plot?
This is a cheer up all the other would be writers question. How many rejection letters did you get for Proof by Seduction?
And one just because question. Does your husband read your work?
Not too long ago you told fruit fortunes. What is your favorite fruit?
