This is what I had hoped to see on Day One.
It pays few political dividends. It doesn’t jumpstart the economy or do anything to address the hard problems of health care, education, or energy efficiency.
It just shows integrity and a commitment to the rule of law. It demonstrates that the oath he swore to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution had real meaning other than lip service.
Thank you for this one.
Truthfully, I’m really happy with everything he’s done on Day One. And I’m pretty pumped that, even though the economy is everyone’s top priority, he’s apparently devoting Day Two to foreign policy. I’m crossing my fingers for some State Department calls for more foreign service officers as that’s the dream job.
It’s been a long time comming.
Amen. I hope to someday be able to think about all this without getting teary-eyed.
My sense of relief, and hope, is overwhelming.
